More details about finish foil paper
Finish foil paper is a type of special décor paper which can be widely used as surfaces in furniture, cabinets, wall paneling, interior fittings, picture frame, RTA and so on. And it consists of base paper, environmental oil-based ink and laquer(resin). To select wisely, let's learn more details about it:
Base paper weight: 30g/ 35g/ 40g/ 45g/ 50g/ 60g/ 65g
As the weight of the paper increases, the price becomes higher, while the stretch strength and opacity also increase. Wrapping requires good stretch strength, so normally >45g paper is used for wrapping. We’ll introduce proper weight of base paper according to different applications, requirements and needs.
Post progress machines: laminating machine/ wrapping machine
Laminating is very normal, but not all the decorative surface can be wrapped. However, some finish foil paper can be glued to substrates by wrapping machine for trim, picture frames, etc. Which means when selecting finish foil to cover furniture like cabinets, edging banding would not be needed. It can not only save the extra purchasing of edging banding, but also erase the color difference of the whole.
Coating/Resin: one time PU/twice PU (Polyurethane)
Our finish foil paper is coated with PU(Polyurethan) resin by one time or twice depending on customers’ need. Twice PU paper acts better in terms of surface resistances and creates more surface effects compared to one time PU paper.
Surface effect: matt/glossy、visual 3D、touchable embossed、synchronized embossed
The surface effects of finish foil paper are created by PU resin coated on top. We can formulate PU coating with different levels of glossiness from super matt to high glossy. Besides, with the combination of different glossy level of the two PU layers and the different cylinder, it can create surface effects like:
Visual 3D: It has 3D look but without touchable embossing effect
touchable embossed: You can feel the embossing when touching the surface
synchronized embossed: You can see and touch the embossed texture at the same time. Especially, this surface effect can strengthen the authenticity of woodgrain patterns to make it more like real wood veneers.
Decor type: wood/ stone/ concrete/ fabric/ abstract/ solid grain
Wood grain type: Elm/ Ash/ Beech/ Cherry/ Maple/ Oak/ Pine/ Teak/ Walnut/ Wenge
Substrates: MDF, HDF, particle board, chipboard, plywood, block wood, etc
Surface resistances:
Finish foil paper should meet various standards in terms of surface resistances like tape resistance, MEK resistance, scratch resistance, wear resistance, stain resistance, boiling water resistance and color fastness to light.
